A new Air Traffic Control (ATC) centre is being built near Abu Dhabi International Airport in the United Arab Emirates with an investment of AED 300 million to provide safe and efficient handling of air traffic until 2020.
The centre, "Sheikh Zayed Centre", being built by the General Civil Aviation Authority is scheduled for completion in June 2009.
Sheikh Zayed Centre will consist of two main buildings, the ACC and the Emergency ACC. The main ACC building has an ATC room with sufficient sector suites with the latest technology to accommodate traffic growth for 20 years.
